Fabric Choice & Care

Fabric choice

Fabric choice depends on the application needed.

Fabrics will react differently, according to the weather conditions. For example some might shrink in the wet, whilst other may relax in the wet. Such reactions must be taken into consideration when you make your fabric choice.

Our company offers a large selection of fabrics from:

  1. Acrylic
  2. Canvas
  3. Sunscreen
  4. PVC

Awnings will look their best when they are fully extended. When awnings are partially retracted wrinkles may be apparent. However this will depend on the awning type and fabric choice.

Fabrics come in different widths. Seams will be apparent, depending on awing size and fabric choice.

Fabric Care and Maintenance

To obtain the maximum life from your awnings, the following points should be noted:

  1. Keep the fabric clean by regularly brushing both sides with a soft broom and occasionally hosing with cold water.
  2. Do not apply harsh soaps, cleaning fluids or insecticides. This can void warranties
  3. Do not allow bird droppings, dirt or vegetable matter to remain in contact with the fabric. This can also void warranties
  4. It is important not to roll up your awnings when wet. If you need to roll up wet awnings for safety reasons, as soon as possible roll down your awnings to dry.
  5. Stubborn stains may need treatment with a household cleaner. Contact your supplier for cleaning advice.
